Kent

Black-veined Moth

Black-veined Moth
A brilliant few hours spent in Kent with Matt looking for a few target species. We managed to find two out of three in the form of the stunning and incredibly rare Black-veined Moth. Matt managed to find the first one and we ended up seeing two in total. I was so chuffed to see these as it is a species I have always wanted to see. They were however very hard to photograph so I make no apologies!

The second target of the day was the equally impressive Late Spider Orchid which was a new species for me. There were 24 in total in a small area. Each of which was protected from grazing rabbits by a small cage which had kept them in perfect order.
