Charleston Reedbed - Ringing

Meadow Pipit - Charleston Reedbed
Probable Continental Blackbird - Charleston Reedbed
Yet another busy morning ringing which finished on 123 new birds bringing the total for the week in just three visits to exactly 500 new birds. It is staggering to think how many birds pass through this tiny reedbed each day when migration is in full flow. Interestingly today we caught two very colourful adult female Blackbirds which were presumably continental birds.

Full list of species trapped and ringed is below:

Chiffchaff - 56
Blackcap - 31
Meadow Pipit - 9
Goldcrest - 6
Robin - 5
Blue Tit - 4
Reed Warbler - 3
Wren - 2
Song Thrush - 2
Blackbird - 2
Dunnock - 2
