Blashford Lakes - DIP
With the adult Franklin's Gull coming to roost every evening at Blashford Lakes in Hampshire it was time Mr E and I went to have a look for ourselves and finally get it on our lists! We hatched a plan to go and have a look this afternoon and left Horsham about 12.45pm eventually arriving on site just after 2.30pm. Our plan of leaving early came good and we managed to get a seat before the vigil unfolded.
To cut a long story short we saw bugger all...some punk claimed to see it at the end of the hide but gave shit (i.e. none) directions and the ones he did were 30mins to late so the rest of the hide didn't see his Black-headed Gull. Matt also fell asleep to the sweet sound of people claiming Black-headed Gull's in summer plumage as Franklin's Gulls...so actually we saw about 14!!!!
