A phonecall from Ads this afternoon saw me heading to the East Trout Lake on the Chichester Gravel Pit Complex and as soon as I arrived it was calling frequently from a small patch of Bramble. Soon enough it hopped out and decent views were had of the bird. I was well chuffed as it was a Sussex tick for me and one I was always going to struggle with as I am normally on Scillies when they are likely to turn up. Well done to Ads on a cracking find...much better than a shanty Red-crested Pochard!
