Frog x Common Spotted Orchid - Eastbourne

A phonecall from Matt alerted me to this stunning orchid which is a hybrid between a Frog Orchid and a Common Spotted Orchid. It is the first time that this has been recorded in Sussex according to orchid expert David Lang. Well done to Bob Eade for the find...as stunning looking flower.

There were hundreds of Common Spotted Orchid around as well as a minimum of 28 Frog Orchids. A fantastic hour spent with Matt, many thanks for alerting me to the orchids presence. The only butterfly we saw was a single Speckled Wood which was rather disappointing. Also glimpsed a moth which I was 99% sure was a Chalk Carpet though it is slightly early.
