A mad twitch which luckily worked out ok in the end! I left home at 4.30pm and managed to get to Trimley Marshes at 6.40pm which was pretty good considering the traffic. Once on site I started the mammoth walk but after about 50yds I had already started running! I did NOT want to waste any time and miss this monster bird.
Luckily it hung around and I had great views of it firstly from the sea wall and then much closer views were enjoyed in the hide. I never thought I would see one in Britain having seen quite a few in China but here it was. Magic bird and the poor record shots just don't do it justice.
