Sadly for me I was not ringing down at the Reedbed this morning when GD, SP and TP all were. Much to my disgust they managed to bag Britain's first Wryneck of the autumn (closely followed by one on the Isles of Scilly later the same day). I thought the text message I got was a joke until I received the pictures via email the next day! Quite what it was doing in a small reedbed in mid-august is anyone's guess but a very welcome catch.
Gutted to miss it though!
