Arlington Reservoir

Pintail - Arlington Reservoir
Shelduck - Arlington Reservoir
A few hours on the patch after carrying out some post storm remedial works at Charleston Reedbed was pretty grim weather-wise with a strong southerly blow which made viewing from the dam a pretty cold affair. A few good patch year-ticks were to be sought however in the form of a pair of Shelduck (not easy at the reservoir, a handful of records each year and rarely in winter), five Pintail and a pair of Egyptian Geese. Awful pictures above taken in poor light on my phone through the scope. A brief tally of the highlights are below:

Little Egret - 1
Great Black-backed Gull - 77
Shelduck - 2
Egyptian Goose - 2
Tufted Duck - 10
Pintail - 5
Gadwall - 23
