The breaking news came on Tuesday of a Black-winged Stilt but sadly I couldn't manage to sort out bits at work quick enough to be able to pop down so I was waving goodbye to a potential Sussex tick unless it clung on til dawn the next day. After an absolute mission trying to find exactly where to park and then where to walk to once parked there was no sign of the Stilt which was a real shame. A much wanted Sussex tart-tick eludes me once more. Nice to get decent views of a pretty late Merlin along the beach however.
