Around & About Sussex

Charleston Reedbed

Started off ringing at Charlston but the water level was still pretty high so the feeders were nearly empty which meant there were not many birds around. But we still managed to ring a nice mix of birds with the highlights being a few Lesser Redpoll and Goldfinch. There were also at least 4 squealing Water Rails around the site as well as 2 Common Buzzard and a single Raven.

Lismore Rd, Eastbourne

No sign of the Waxwing's which MRE found a few days ago in the couple of hours I spent looking before I got moved on by a traffic warden.

Selsey Bill

2 Velvet Scoter, 90+ Common Scoter, 1 Great Northern Diver, 2 Guillemot

Warnham LNR

2 Pintail
