I decided after an uneventful log to stay on St Mary's and bird some of the areas which hadn't seen much of my attention so far in this holiday. I got up at dawn and headed straight for the Garrison and recorded the following:
Blackbird - 17
Song Thrush - 2
Pheasant - 2
Robin - 9
Wren - 9
Great Tit - 3
Goldcrest - 3
Rock Pipit - 1
Dunnock - 3
Meadow Pipit - 9
Yellow-browed Warbler - 2
Carrion Crow - 4
Wheatear - 3
Greenfinch - 2
White Wagtail - 1
|
Yellow-browed Warbler - Morning Point |
I then visited Peninnis Head and recorded the following:
Song Thrush - 1
Yellow-browed Warbler - 1
Wren - 3
Woodpigeon - 2
Robin - 2
Snow Bunting - 1
Meadow Pipit - 10
Dunnock - 1
Swallow - 7
Kestrel - 1
Skylark - 2
|
Snow Bunting - Peninnis Head |
Finally I then mooched around the Dump Clump and Higgo's Pool adding very little to the list except for a Blackcap by the school. Pretty quiet day today and the arrival of so many Yellow-browed Warblers wasn't a good sign!
